Move over Ash as Kareena Kapoor is all set to become the highest paid woman in Bollywood. Reports are that Bebo, who was just seen opposite real-life beau Saif Ali Khan in Kurbaan, has been offered a whopping Rs 10 crore to be a part of Golmaal 3.

According to reports, director Rohit Shetty, who is planning to launch the third Golmaal installment in April next year, and for that he is eager to sign Kareena, who was also seen in Golmaal Returns.

If this deal comes through then Kareena will leave behind current highest paid actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who charges a whopping Rs 5 crore.

Kareena was apparently paid Rs 2.5 crore for Kambakkht Ishq and a little more for Golmaal Returns. Reports also suggest that the actress was paid Rs 7 crore for endorsing a snack brand.

Mythology connects Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif

Two of the most beautiful actresses are connected by an uncanny coincidence. The forthcoming films of both the stunners are based on the religious Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, starring Aishwarya Rai as Sita, is based on Ramayana. It has south star Vikram playing Ash’s hubby and Abhishek Bachchan playing the villain who kidnaps Ash and takes her into a forest. Govinda’s character, based on Lord Hanuman, is that of a forest guard who helps trace Ash.

Prakash Jha’s film Rajneeti, on the other hand, is based on Mahabharata. The film, a political thriller, borrows a great deal from the politics of Mahabharata. Ranbir Kapoor plays an Arjun-like character who, with the help of his mentor, takes on his rivals. Katrina Kaif too plays a politico in the movie that stars a host of actors including Ajay Devgan, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Nana Patekar.

Both ‘Raavan’ and ‘Rajneeti’ have Ash and Katrina in non-glam roles; the stunners are dressed demurely in sarees. Another coincidence is that both the films are set to release in May next year. Though it’s unlikely that the films would clash at the marquee, they would, at best, release with a gap of two weeks in between.

For the first time ever, Bollywood's golden couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have come together to shoot for a leading soap brand commercial.

The ad captures how mesmerised Abhi is with Ash, when she plays a naughty prank on him. Ash looks so pretty that Abhishek just can't seem to resist her.

The ad has been directed by Stephen Mead, with the music composed by the melodic trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The couple has been styled by well known designer Aki Narula and makeup has been done by Mickey Contractor.

The ad will be aired on television later this month.

Despite being two of the sexiest stars in Bollywood, Ash and Hrithik only came together on screen in 2006 with Dhoom 2. Their chemistry was easy and brilliant, and they looked great together.
Luckily for Ashutosh Gowariker, his film Jodhaa Akbar, also starring Ash and Hrithik, came soon after Dhoom 2, and since fans across the world loved to see them together, this film too went on to become a huge hit.

Each time that Ash and Hrithik have joined hands, they have won myriads of awards. For Dhoom 2, both of them won top acting awards at Filmfare. For Jodhaa Akbar, Hrithik won the Best Actor award and the film was decalred the Best Film.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has decided to cash in on the excitement generated by Ash and Hrithik together. He has cast them in his remake of the Hollywood flick, The Prestige. His film is called Guzaarish and it will go on floors at the end of the year.

While Guzaarish will be Hrithik's first time working with Bhansali, Aishwarya has worked with him before on two films. Devdas (2000) on which they worked together was a huge hit as it starred Aishwarya, Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit.

Aishwarya Rai goes beyond glitz at Cannes

Aishwarya Rai, a regular at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet and L'Oreal brand ambassador, is going beyond her glitz and glamour tag. She is beginning to reinvent herself on the global scene as an activist for social and humanitarian causes.

As a step in that direction, the Bollywood diva will, alongside Queen Noor of Jordan, address a press conference May 14 at Hotel Martinez in Cannes to announce the third edition of the International Tribunes Cinema Verite event that will take place in Geneva (Oct 6 to 8) and Paris (Oct 9-10) later this year.

Cinema Verite is a special film event dedicated to films and social actions that promote human rights and the eight Millennium Development Goals adopted by the United Nations.
