Indian Rupee symbol has been announced and has been sent to the government for approval. And if you are wondering how will you type the rupee symbol using your keyboard, well it might take a year or so to get the symbol in action (to gain acceptance in India) and two years for international acceptance.
Technically speaking, the symbol will be first sent to Unicode Consortium’s technical committee, in order to include the same in Unicode database.
The symbol will also be included in the Indian Standards, viz. 13194:1991 – Indian Script Code for Information Interchange (ISCII), through an amendment to the existing list by the Bureau of Indian Standards. The ISCII specifies various codes for Indian languages for processing on computers along with the key-board lay outs.
While the Government of India can mandate hardware manufacturers to include the symbol in keyboards, it can also be accessed through assigned keyboard combination or via the operating system’s Character Map, post approval from the Unicode Consortium .
Here are a possible options you can play with
?
using U+0930 (i.e. Devnagari Letter, RA) and
R
i.e., U+0052 (Latin letter R), and
?
( U+20a8, i.e. Rupee sign).
Maybe, to get the official Rupee symbol, you would have to wait for the new keyboards or hack from a typographer.

Barack Obama wins Nobel Prize for Peace !
US President Barack Obama has sensationally won the Nobel Peace Prize, just nine months into his term, with the jury hailing his ''extraordinary'' efforts in international diplomacy and to hasten nuclear disarmament.
Mr Obama said he was ''humbled'' by the distinction but some questioned how the award could be given so quickly.
''The Nobel committee has in particular looked at Obama's vision and work towards a world without atomic weapons,'' said Thorbjoern Jagland, chairman of the five-member committee. ''Obama has, as President, created a new climate in international politics".
''Multilateral diplomacy is again central, with emphasis on the role the United Nations and other international institutions should play,'' Mr Jagland said. ''Dialogue and negotiations are the preferred method to solve even the most difficult international conflicts.''
The committee said it wanted to enhance Mr Obama's diplomatic efforts. "Many other people and leaders and nations have to respond in a positive way to President Obama's diplomacy.''
Mr Obama, 48, was elected last year on a platform of extracting the US from the Iraq war while increasing focus on an eight-year conflict in Afghanistan.
But while some applauded the decision, others said it was premature. ''Obama? So fast? Too fast - he hasn't had the time to do anything yet,'' was the response of Poland's anti-communist leader and 1983 Nobel Peace Prize winner Lech Walesa.
''For the time being Obama's just making proposals.''
Sydney Peace Foundation director Professor Stuart Rees, who was shocked by the decision, said the President had much work to do if he was to live up to the award. ''We've all got our fingers crossed [Obama] can wave his magic wand and make these things happen. Perhaps the Nobel organisation wants to give him a magic wand,'' Professor Rees said.
The Greens leader, Senator Bob Brown praised Mr Obama's moves to rid the world of nuclear weapons but said he was ''surprised'' to learn of the award. ''His actions certainly merit a very big accolade,'' he said.
Exiled Uighur leader Rebiya Kadeer, who has often been tipped for the prestigious prize for her fight on behalf of the Chinese minority group, offered congratulations to Mr Obama.
''I am very happy that he got it. Now he has to do something with the award. It raises expectations on him to stand up for oppressed nations,'' she said.
European Commission chief Jose Manuel Barroso said he hoped the award would encourage people hoping to build a safer world. And the director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mohamed ElBaradei, said he was ''absolutely delighted'' by the news. ''In less than a year in office, he has transformed the way we look at ourselves and the world we live in and rekindled hope for a world at peace with itself.''
Iranian President Mohammed Ahmadinejad said the award should prompt Mr Obama to start working towards ending injustice.
The Taliban condemned the decision, saying Mr Obama had ''not taken a single step for peace in Afghanistan or to make this country stable''.
Mr Obama is the third sitting US president to be awarded the prize, following Theodore Roosevelt in 1906 and Woodrow Wilson in 1919.

Unknown Life Form in North Carolina Sewer : Suspected to be an Monster Alien

North Carolina can now proudly claim the #1 viral YouTube video today—that’s right it was even beating out Michael Jackson this morning. Since the footage was posted to YouTube, searches for pictures and video of the creature have flooded the net, and we’ve got them here. But what is the unknown life form in the sewer?
Well they’ve called in the slimy sewer monster experts and their opinions vary. Here’s how the unknown life form was discovered: A company called Malphrus Construction was contracted to inspect the sewer lines, which are actually part of a private system owned by York Properties in Raleigh North Carolina.
What have they been flushing?? Anyway, Malphrus workers were inspecting the nearly 50 year old system with a snake camera that allows them to get a closer look at the inside of the pipes. That’s when they noticed a moving brownish glob near a crack in the structure where roots had intruded. It seemed as though the unknown life form reacted to the light, which also gives off quite a bit of heat. When asked about the life-form in North Carolina, most experts dispel the monster alien theory and offer a more rational explanation: the unknown sewer creature could actually be a clump of annelid or tubifex worms. Such worms normally live “in soil and sediment at the bottom and edges of polluted streams.”
Others have described them as a group of invertebrates called byrozoan. There does seem to be a consensus that they are harmless, but Raleigh, North Carolina officials don’t seem too concerned because the so-called unknown life-form is in a private sewer system. Look in the video how they response when the camera go close to them, it looks like that they came out of some science fiction movie. Although it is difficult to tell from the video how big these creatures are since we do not know the diameter of that sewer pipe. The footage was taken from a snake camera and the creature was discovered in a sewer pipe, so I believe they are not so big. In-fact someone on the internet suggested that they might be stacks of “sludge worm or sewage worm”, but I doubt it. The strange living things found are nothing short of sickening and amazing that what I think.
However, many speculated that the unknown life form found in North Carolina Sewers is of Extra-Terrestrial origin.
I hope that this mysterious creature is harmless.
What do you think what this unknown life form is?

Michael Jackson leaves behind huge financial debt
Reuters: Michael Jackson leaves behind huge financial debt
Along with a vast musical legacy and legions of adoring fans, pop superstar Michael Jackson leaves behind a mountain of debt and an unfulfilled comeback many hoped would rake in millions and erase his financial troubles, according to Reuters News Service. The King of Pop died suddenly on Thursday at the age of 50, after a career spanning 40 years that included the biggest-selling pop album of all time, "Thriller."
Despite taking in hundreds of millions of dollars as one of the most successful pop musicians of all time, Jackson racked up about $500 million of debt, according to sources cited by The Wall Street Journal earlier this month. His top assets, however, including copyrights to his own songs and a stake in the Beatles' song catalog, are worth more than $1 billion, according to a music industry source. Jackson's career and image were tarnished by his mounting financial and legal troubles in recent years.
Known for huge shopping sprees for toys and antiques, Jackson was accused by an accountant during his 2005 trial on child molestation charges of spending $20 million to $30 million more than he was bringing in per year. The lavish lifestyle was made possible in part by a $200 million loan secured by his stake in the Beatles catalog. Jackson owned the music in a joint venture with Sony Corp known as Sony/ATV. Jackson refinanced those loans in 2006 in a bid to stave off insolvency.
In addition, Jackson last November had to hand over the title on his Neverland estate in California to a company made up of himself and Los Angeles-based real estate investment trust Colony Capital LLC, the firm that holds his $23 million loan on the property. Colony Capital has been sprucing up the ranch and planned to sell it, according to the Journal. Colony Chief Executive Tom Barrack told the newspaper last month the estate could fetch $70 million to $80 million, or more if Jackson's career were revitalized. In a statement on Thursday, Barrack said he was "deeply saddened" by Jackson's death, but did not comment on the impact on Colony's business. To help turn around his financial fortunes, Jackson was planning a major comeback in London this summer, 12 years since his last tour. AEG Live, which was promoting the 50-concert run at the 02 Arena, stands to lose as much as $40 million if its insurance is not substantial enough to cover what it has already spent on the production, Billboard reported, and one attorney said the company would not be able to recover any of those costs from Jackson's estate. "The concert promoters can't sue the estate," said Bob Rasmussen, dean of the Gould Law School at the University of Southern California.
"Once he dies, he doesn't have any obligation to perform." AEG, wholly owned by privately held Anschutz Co, will also certainly miss out on the $400 million the company estimated it could raise through a 3 1/2-year plan to work with Jackson.

Michael Jackson's sudden death - Mystery Unsolved

One day after Michael Jackson's sudden death, speculation was already turning on Friday to what killed the 50-year-old "King of Pop" just weeks before his long-awaited series of comeback concerts. Jackson, a former child star who became one of the best-selling pop artists of all time before a descending into a strange and reclusive lifestyle, died on Thursday afternoon at a Los Angeles hospital, where he had been rushed in full cardiac arrest after collapsing at his nearby rental home.
Few details were known early on Friday about the circumstances surrounding his death, but the entertainer was reportedly unconscious and not breathing by the time he arrived at UCLA Medical Center, and doctors were unable to revive him. His body was flown by helicopter from the hospital to the coroner's office late on Thursday.
Brian Oxman, a spokesman for the Jackson family, told CNN on Thursday that the family had been concerned about his health and had tried in vain to take care of him for months. "Michael appeared at rehearsals a couple of times, he was very seriously trying to be able to do those rehearsals," Oxman said of Jackson's preparations for a series of 50 concerts that were scheduled to begin in London in July. "His use of medications had gotten in the way, his injuries which he had sustained performing, where he had broken a vertebrae and he had broken his leg from a fall on the stage, were getting in the way," Oxman told CNN.
Authorities have scheduled an autopsy for Friday. But they cautioned that it could take weeks to determine a cause of death, which will likely have to wait for the return of toxicology tests. Those tests will determine if Jackson had any drugs, alcohol or prescription medications in his system.
Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery Homicide division searched Jackson's home in the upscale Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles at the behest of Chief William Bratton. But they called the investigation an "every day" event.
The London concert swing was billed as a comeback for Jackson, who dominated the pop charts during the 1980s with such hits as "Thriller" and "Billie Jean" and was credited with turning music videos into a costly and cinematic art form. 750 MILLION RECORDS SOLD He is considered one of the most successful entertainers of the past century, with a lifetime sales tally estimated at 750 million records and 13 Grammy Awards.

Michael Jackson,King of Pop dead at 50

Los Angeles – Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted "King of Pop" who emerged from childhood superstardom to become the entertainment world's most influential singer and dancer before his life and career deteriorated in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press. He was 50.
The person said Jackson died in a Los Angeles hospital. The person was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity. The circumstances of his death were not immediately clear. Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m., Capt. Steve Ruda told the Los Angeles Times. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told the newspaper.
Jackson's death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music's premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage. His 1982 album "Thriller" — which included the blockbuster hits "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" — remains the biggest-selling album of all time, with more than 26 million copies. He was perhaps the most exciting performer of his generation, known for his feverish, crotch-grabbing dance moves, his high-pitched voice punctuated with squeals and titters. His single sequined glove and tight, military-style jacket were trademarks second only to his ever-changing, surgically altered appearance.
As years went by, he became an increasingly freakish figure. His skin became lighter and his nose narrower. He surrounded himself with children at his Neverland ranch, often wore a germ mask while traveling and kept a pet chimpanzee named Bubbles as one of his closest companions. In 2005, he was cleared of charges he molested a 13-year-old cancer survivor at Neverland in 2003. He had been accused of plying the boy with alcohol and groping him. The case took a fearsome toll on his career and image, and he fell into serious financial trouble.
Let his soul rest in peace
